My Two Edged Sword

When the enemy attacks us, then, “Oh, I tell you, you ought to come join our…” What are you going to do, back down, compromise? Not a real soldier, won’t. No, sir.

What do we do then? The mind, “Let the mind that was in Christ…” Is that what the Bible said? [Congregation says, “Amen.”—Ed.] “The mind that was in Christ, be with you.” What kind of a mind did He have? Stay with the Word. That’s right. Stay with Word, the Father’s Word, and defeated the enemy every time. Now when the enemy attacks and try to say you got to do this and do that, what you going to do? Stay with the Word. That’s right.

What you want to do then? Take the Word. What is the Word? The Bible said here. We just read it. For the Spirit, and of God, is the Word. See? Look here. “And take the helmet of salvation, and the Sword, the Sword of the Spirit.” The Sword of the Spirit! What? The Spirit that comes in through your mind and enters into you, and the Sword of that Spirit is the Word of God.

What does that Spirit fight with? What does the Holy Spirit fight with, sensations, feelings? [Congregation says, “The Word.”—Ed.] The Word; heart! Whew! Glory! What does It fight with, feeling? Word! Word! Let’s say it, Word! [“Word!”] Word! [“Word!”] Word of God is what the Spirit fights with.

The Spirit of God walks right up to the devil, and said, “It is written!” Amen! “It is written!” And the devil gives away.

What do we do? Take the Sword, which is the Word of God, pull It with (what?) a hand of faith, strong hand of faith, the two-edged Sword. The Bible said, in Hebrews 4, “It’s—It’s a two-edged Sword,” cuts both coming and going.

62-0311 The Greatest Battle Ever Fought

For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

Hebrews 4:12

Where is the greatest battle ever fought? The mind is the battleground where the devil constantly meets us, but thank God that we have the weapon to combat any attack of the enemy: the sharp, two-edged Sword of the Word. It’s in our hands; all we have to do is start swinging!

This brother’s Sword has two sides to it: the written Word and the Spoken Word. Here is his encouragement to the Bride.

Greetings to His Bride around the world.

I had a little testimony I wanted to share of what the Lord did for me in my Quiet Time recently. I trust it will be an encouragement to my fellow soldiers in the Lord’s army.

I had been listening to a message Saturday morning about the whole armor of God, and how a Christian stands in the battle against Satan. As we all know, the wiles of the devil are so prevalent today; we are all targets of his most aggressive attacks. It seems each day the enemy has a new arrow he shoots my way.

I had been thinking a lot about the greatest battle ever fought, and this subject was strong on my heart. The Lord had been dealing with me on this subject in a great way. I had been mediating on the standard that the Lord has raised up for us today: His Word!

As I was listening and speaking with Him, the Lord spoke to my heart about the two-edged Sword that we read about in the Apostle Paul’s epistle, and hear God’s prophet teach on. Since that morning, the two-edged Sword of His written Word and Spoken Word has had a new meaning to me.

My Sword He has given me is two-edged, and is so sharp that it cuts the enemy on either side. Sometimes I’ll use the one side of the blade and hit the enemy with “It is written” by using a Scripture verse in the Bible. And sometimes I’ll use the other side of my Sword and say, “It is Spoken” and I’ll use a quote of Brother Branham. It cuts the devil every time.

When I see the enemy coming or something happening, I not only use my shield of faith and helmet of salvation, but I pull this Sword and meet him. I don’t stay on the defensive. As a son of God, I am going to meet the “Philistines” in my life. And friends, I can report that I have been cutting through the enemies like the men of old who cut through the Philistines, praise the Lord!

I have also noticed some of those same “Philistines” that I have been dealing with don’t come around as much as they used to. Maybe because they know they will get my two-edged Sword pulled on them. The more I am reading the Word and listening to His spoken Word, the sharper my Sword becomes. I still fail every day, but I am in the battle, swinging a double-sided Sword, and cutting the enemies as they come up.

I just wanted to share what the two-edged Sword means to me, and I want to encourage each of you brothers and sisters to pull your Sword when the enemy comes in.

We have the greatest weapon in Heaven and earth. No devil can stand it, and I am using it.

Bro. Michael
